More Bank's Robbing Us
January 11th 2008 05:49
January 11, 2008.
St George and Westpac have become the latest major banks to lift their home loan rates, due to the global squeeze on credit, which is putting 'higher costs on banks'. It's a crock of shit really.
Westpac has lifted its variable rate by 0.15 per cent a year and St George by 0.2 per cent, which is equal to ANZ's ealier increase.
Meanwhile, in healthier news, the Fed government says 21 Sri Lankan refugees currently being held on Nauru will be resettled in Australia next week.
And in health, the Queensland Nurses Union says the state's health employers need to do more to improve the English skills of foreign nurses. Well, duh! And surely the government can provide such services - free of charge.
